Shinrin-yoku day retreat with Nikita

I’m Nikita and I am grateful to be living in the stunning new-build development, nestled in Bucklers Park, Bracknell. Surrounded by acres of woodland and vast open space, I have designed an inspiring forest day of introspection and insight for those who curious about exploring themselves on a deeper level. I am passionate about guiding purposeful people through a ‘journey’ of self-development; physically, mindfully and spiritualty. My brand is based on three areas; health, wellbeing and personal development.

Based on the ancient Japanese ritual of forest bathing, during Spring & Summer I am inviting a small number of people through this immersive experience with me. I will open up my home and heart for the day, where we will dive deeply into ALL aspects of your life. I draw on my experiences as a yoga teacher, reiki master and NLP coach to blend a range of transformative modalities.

A day of self-reflection…

Yoga & Meditation

After a welcome hot drink, we will start our day with an energising yoga class. Depending on the weather, this may be done outside, on the decking in my garden or even within the grounds of the forest. With the fresh breeze of the trees and sounds of nature, you will centre yourself into postures, breathing techniques & guided meditations.

As a master practitioner and coach of Neuro Linguistic Programming, I bring awareness to your subconscious thought and language patterns. We will spend a fun afternoon designing a vision board for you to take home!

One of the best parts of the day, is to experience a powerful energy healing treatment, combining Reiki with essential oils, breath work and guided meditation. We will clear unresolved energy blocks and from your past in order for you to let go, and move forwards with clarity & confidence.

Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, is a holistic approach to wellness that has garnered global attention for its simplicity and profound impact on health. The essence of shinrin-yoku lies in its ability to harness the intrinsic healing power of nature, encouraging individuals to immerse themselves in the serene embrace of the forest. This practice is where every sense is engaged in absorbing the tranquility and vitality that only nature can provide.

The therapeutic benefits of shinrin-yoku are manifold. By spending time in forests, one exposes themselves to phytoncides, natural compounds released by trees, which have been found to bolster the immune system. The inhalation of these compounds increases the activity of natural killer cells, a type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in fighting off infections and cancerous growths. Moreover, the forest atmosphere, rich in these beneficial compounds, contributes to a decrease in stress hormone levels, effectively reducing anxiety and stress.

The calming hues of green, the soft rustle of leaves, and the gentle whisper of the wind work in concert to soothe the mind, fostering a state of relaxation that rivals that of meditation and yoga. It’s this meditative quality that makes shinrin-yoku akin to these practices, offering a space for introspection and mindfulness. The practice encourages a connection with the present moment, allowing us to step away from the chaotic pace of modern life and find solace in the stillness of nature.
